Description:
Calling all Soka University students, alumni, and community!
Kick off 2021 by creating positive impact on campus, locally, or globally.
No experience necessary. Coaches will lead you through the process.
Impactathon® @Soka will guide you to:
- Map social problems
- Brainstorm impact-driven solutions
- Design project/business plans
- Pitch to potential investors, advisors, and mentors
- Get a certificate of completion for resume and LinkedIn
- Win cash prizes!

- Social Enterprise: using business models to create social impact
- United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
- Design Thinking
- Lean Methodology for Startups
- Hackathons: sprints of groupwork, brainstorming, and innovation around a particular idea, problem, or solution.
Teams:
Teams can range in size from 2 – 5 members. Each team must include at least one SUA student or alumni.
Distributing $2,000 in Cash Prizes:
Social Impact Business Venture Prizes $1,000 | $500 | $250
For social enterprises with top impact & sustainable business models.
Social Impact Project Prize | $250
For projects with top social impact on campus or in a local community.

B2B Passport
The B2B Passport allows Soka students and alumni access to business skill-building learning destinations such as Impactathon, UCI New Venture Competition, Spring Break Business Bootcamp, and exclusive B2B Zoom Room interviews with entrepreneurs, and business thought-leaders, plus private coaching to help realize personal career goals. Prize funds
To receive prizes, all participants must complete IRS forms W-8 or W-9 prior to the pitch event. Prizes will be distributed evenly among team members.
